Heartleaf Philodendron

An easy-care beautifully vining plant is the Heartleaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum). It is native to Central America and the Caribbean. In its natural habitat it can climb 20 feet and has huge 12 inch long leaves. Indoors this plant can trail up to 10 feet and will stay about 6 inches tall. The leaves are glossy green and heart shaped giving it its name. The Heartleaf Philodendron is also a top air purifier.

AKA: Philodendron, Sweetheart Plant

Light: Tolerates low light but thrives in medium to bright indirect light; east window.

Watering: Allow to dry out half way before watering. Water slowly and evenly; discard excess. Keep evenly moist but not wet.

Humidity: Does well in any level of humidity but will grow faster in a higher humidity.

Toxicity: Mildly toxic to cats, dogs and humans.

Potting Mix: Rich well-draining.

Additional Care: Trim if too long or leggy. Trim back to the soil for a bushier plant. This plant can be trained to grow up a support.
